I joined the staff of FUMC-Atlanta as the Director of Youth Ministries in October of 2012. My husband, Josh, and I have our very own “Brady Bunch”. We have three children, Ashley, Kyler, and Brendan. In my spare time I enjoy playing softball and volleyball, camping, watching football, spending time with my family and enjoying the outdoors.
I was eager to serve in this position for several reasons. I served as a youth volunteer for many years before the position came open and had a passion for working with youth. I also love all of the programs for the youth of both our church and our community, especially our Wednesday Nitro program. I love helping youth discover the love of Jesus Christ and encouraging them to seek His guidance in everything they do.
My favorite Bible verse is John 19:30 and it reads: “When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” This verse reminds me of how much Jesus endured for me and forgiveness of my sins. This verse helps me persevere when life gets tough because it reminds me that I am special and no matter what, God love me just as I am.
